Art & Poetry

Truth is either a shallow mystery
Or a complex but fleeting property of reason
Swaying in the winds of cruel uncertainty
Where falsity defies itself
And faith is just a refined form of doubt

In each of us, two natures are at war – the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them, and one of them must conquer. But in our own hands lies the power to choose – what we want most to be we are ~Robert Lewis Stevenson

That being said, I find this image to have particular relevance and have made it the focal point of this page for this reason. As humans, we are dynamic beings. We have an instinct as animals and the intellectual ability to reason against our own nature. Most of us believe that makes us superior in the animal kingdom. I think it merely makes us conceited and delusional, and unappreciative of that which we feel entitled to judge as lesser than us. This, is wrong. I drew this image free hand based on an image I found on the web – and it bears a pretty decent likeness to the original. I’m quite fond of it.

The Art, Philosophy & Poetry category will be where you can find my philosophical ramblings not related to spanking, my poems (read at your own risk) and any artwork I feel like sharing.
